Bedtime Pee

Darling Puddin’ Pop,

I know I’m always telling you how proud of you I am.  It’s the truth.  You amaze me every day with all the things you do.  I am especially proud of your independent spirit and your willingness and insistence on doing things for yourself.

We are still working on the potty training thing.  I’m taking my cues from you.  No stress.  You just let me know when you have to go, and sometimes you just go by yourself.  We’ll continue to work on the whole pulling up of the pants.  I’ll also continue to remind you about not needing to completely disrobe before going potty and the unacceptability of staying that way after your done.

Two nights ago you awoke and came to let me know you needed to use the potty.  Way to go!  Last night you did the same and I was once again so proud.  By the 7th time in one hour (no lie), at 1:00am, I was begging you to just go in your pull up.  I’m sorry for that.  Mommy was just super tired and and the couple of drops you tinkled hardly made it worth it for me.  But it’s really not about me, is it?  I’m glad you made me get up and take you.  I’m even more elated that it didn’t last more than an hour and thankful that you weren’t getting a UTI.

I hope you will be able to sleep better tonight… in the bathtub… next to the potty.

I love you,

Mom

Multi Tasking…Or NOT!

Dear Hubby,

While I do not expect you to be able to multi-task like a WAHM (Me), I would like to see you be able to do more than one thing at a time.  Like while your waiting for something to heat up in the microwave. Instead of standing there for 3 minutes, maybe you could wash a couple dishes or put some of the clean ones I washed away?

Yesterday we both went upstairs to take a shower at the same time.  I purposely paid attention to what I did, as you often think I do nothing, and here is what happened.  You went into your bathroom.  I sorted and put away a basket (equivalent to 4 loads) of clothes in all the appropriate drawers in the right rooms.  I took my shower, got dressed, got all the dirty laundry from upstairs and hauled it to the garage, folded the laundry in the dryer, put clothes from washer into dryer and started a new load in washer.  I got both kids dressed and finished getting myself ready (makeup, hair, brushed teeth).  I washed the dishes from breakfast and sat to check some email before you emerged from the bathroom.

What could you possibly have been doing for all that time?

Love,

Wifey

To my Big Boy

Published by mommyto2 under Letters to Boogie Edit This

Dear Boogie,

I had your (my) first teacher conference last week.  I could not be more proud.  Your teacher says you are doing very well.  You are in the top reading group and will be working with the rest of your group on site words starting really soon.  Your teacher also informed me of your PAL assessments that were just completed.  The benchmark for the beginning of the year is 28%.  The benchmark for the end of the year is 86%.  You tested at 85%.  I almost cried.

You are the light of my life and I love you more than anything.

Ms. H (your teacher) and Mrs. L (teacher’s assistant) both commented on what a nice, respectful, little boy you are.  I just wish they would send that kid home.

All my love,

Mom
